Ron's book gives the reader a combination of practical methodology and useful illustrations. I love that it is an easy read, as he starts most chapters with a story and intertwines it with his friend's visit. Excellent!

Great Book!!!!

Every customer wants something different when it comes to customer service, so how do you go about creating the ideal customer service for all of your clients? Well, in this very well written book Ron tackles this difficult conundrum. He gives examples of what stellar customer service is and he breaks down the meaning of uplifting customer service. He let's go of that old idea of the customer is always right and goes way beyond it for a meaningful transaction for all that are involved. If you are looking for an uplifting book that will get your juices flowing, then you must read this book. You will be left motivated to uplift not only the people in your business, but all people that you come into contact with.

First of all I'm not a teen...but I love this book. It's very well written and very informative. Anyone that wants to learn the basics and get more information about filmmaking, this is a great book for that. It shows you step by step on how to do a short film, which for many filmakers is and was the stepping stone in becoming a great filmmaker. So in my opinion it's a great book, and for anyone that's not a teen don't let the title make you think twice about purchasing it. It's a great book for non- teens too!! :)

Bought this for my son, 12, who is a budding film maker. He loves this book and carries it with him everywhere. He told me he learned quite a bit about filmmaking and planning for a film using this book.

Look, I'm the type of person that's always watched the commentary after completing a film, watched all the behind-the-scenes stuff. (Van Helsing 2004 has great extras). Because I've always wanted to know how things were done.Filmmaking for Teens: Pulling Off Your Shorts- Besides having a great name is incredibly informative. So much, that I gave away my copy to my old high school's film study class. I've always thought I knew a lot about what is done bts for a civilian. But a few things for me were fuzzy, like the purpose of Call-Sheets (after all you already casted, so why would you need to call anyone?)This book, explains what happens on every movie set. It explains everyone's job, has a short little gear section. Gives ideas on how to lure people into helping you. (Like pizza at your first reading of the script in order to drum up people and get a little bit of feedback from strangers for free). Tells you about location scouting, feeding the cast, budgeting, drumming up some publicity for your screening/movie. Having a contest at the end of production to submit to, in order to make deadline motivation happen. It lays everything you could ever need to do on a movie set, aside from actually filming (though it has a short little section on that) and it's not a boring read.I read the whole thing, when I was unsure of whether or not I wanted to be a filmmaker in a day, while going to work, and dealing with finals in College. So they keep it interesting and informative.A great read for those who are mildly interested in what goes behind-the-scenes on movie-sets and how movie magic actually works. Or for those who want youtube shoots to go a little smoother.I'm convinced that when I start my first big movie shoot, that I'll be following this book's checklists through all of production. If you're on the fence about getting it, unless you've worked on a great many movie sets, just get it, you won't regret it.

I bought this book first because I am a college writing professor who has his students make short films inspired by writing they have done during the semester. I thought compared to other filmmaking books, this one would focus on giving practical tips without having to spend a lot of money. It was great for that! Many of my students will make their films with iPhones and iMovie. The book does recommend spending a few thousand dollars on a camera. So it's a good book for low budget, and the writers do make a few recommendations in case there is some money to be spent.I read this book again because I'm planning on shooting a short film based on a novel I wrote. I typed up five pages of notes from my reading. Much of this is in the form of checklists and stuff I want to be sure to remember. I divided my notes up into sections such as "script / table read," "pre-shoot," "on location," "sound," "cinematography," "post production" and so on. So the book gave me a lot to consider in many phases of the filmmaking process.The authors Clay and Troy address teens in their writing. This makes for a very conversational tone which works well. There's a few "ask your teacher/parent" kind of lines. This added to the book and didn't bother me at all as someone thirty years past his teens. I also appreciate the writers' cheesy sense of humor. It makes the book read much more easily than a dry filmmaking manual devoid of personality.Well done guys!

This book was recommended by my 8th grade sons film teacher. He seems to be enjoying it and hopefully he'll learn a few new techniques.

The paper is a medium weight and takes most mediums. I wouldn't use alcohol based markers for the bleed thru.The pages are also perforated which makes framing easier.One of the best parts is a 4 page pullout picture that would be beautiful hung up.My ONLY issue with this book is even though it's technically one sided pics. There are stories about the ponies on the back, so if you have any bleed thru it will ruin the beautiful history of the ponies. Otherwise this is a beautiful book and I highly recommend it.

The coloring pages are very well developed. Detailed enough to make it interesting to color but not too detailed to make it difficult to work with, and there is a very good selection of different pictures. The front of the book has pictures of some of the Painted Pony statues which gives the colorist an idea of what the completed pages might look like. There is also an information page on the different artist who contributed to the book. A nice touch are the proverbs and quotes that are included on the back of the pages. There are also a couple pages when opened up show a double page picture to color. Also included is a picture of a blank Painted Pony that you can design and show your own talents, and then submit for review. The cover of the book features a beautiful color picture of a Painted Pony. All in all it is a lovely book. It will peak your artistic talents and provide many hours of enjoyment to the colorist. It is absolutely beautiful even with the horses uncolored. It is something I would take out of the book and have framed.It includes quotes from various tribes such as the Dakota, as well as traditional Native American Proverbs and quotes from Native American Chiefs.I am looking very forward to the next books coming in the future.

The cover is beautiful and the pages are well done with perforations and pictures only on one side. There is a foldout coloring poster in the middle and very nice quotes on the back of every page. I was very excited to hear about that the Trail of Painted Ponies was coming out with an adult coloring book. The outside cover was done beautifully. I love the raised details. The coloring blank pages vary from outlines of some of the Trail figurines to scenery pictures of the horses. The paper is a lot better quality than I thought. This coloring book has pictures of American Indian horses. Which makes it fun to use colors and expand one's imagination, while learning American History. Horses were an important part of the early development of our country, in the USA. Learning while coloring is great. Nice coloring book.

I bought this book for my 14 year old granddaughter. I know she is going to love it. It has a beautiful embossed cover. Everything about it is nice. I recommend it.

The illustrations are beautifully rendered and you can tell the book is produced with quality in mind. You won't find this type of quality with the other cheaper coloring books. Definitely worth the extra few bucks.

UPDATE (AUG 2017): For some reason, the reviews for the 2017 and 2018 engagement calendar are linked together. My review from last year (below) holds true for the 2018 version as well. Great calendar!Although everything seems to be electronic these days, I still prefer a paper engagement calendar for my personal use. I record all sorts of things in it - appointments, vacation information, exercise, etc. I purchase the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar every year. I have kept several years worth, which I can go back through and reminisce about various activities. The pages are not as thick as they once were, but I still find them to be of decent quality. The spiral binding makes it easy to flip through the pages. There is one week per page with ample writing space for each day. (See customer images: 2017 on left; 2018 on right.) Best of all, the photos of the animals and scenery are absolutely spectacular. I especially like it when I discover a picture or two taken in my own state. It makes me appreciate my surroundings that much more.

The Sierra Club Engangement Calendar has been my daily journal book for more than 30 years. I keep one on my desk and write cryptic little notes and drawings about what I did each day just to try and help me remember what I did each day. I learned long ago that unless I write it down, I have no recollection whatsoever of what I did most days--and that's not an age thing, it's just my personality! I write down a lot of silly things: the weather, what ate that day, if I walked, and of course what I wrote that day (I'm a writer). I've kept all of these journals and it's nice to be able to look back and recall what the weather was like the day I finished a book and who called me that day.Because I'm also a nature photographer, I love looking at the photos. The only reason that I gave this calendar four stars instead of five is that I think the publisher has let the quality of the reproduction slip a bit in recent years. In years gone by the photo reproduction was much higher and today it is average at best. The quality of the paper and binding is still high (spiralbound), but the photo reproduction just isn't what it could be.Overall though, this calendar is probably 4.5 stars. The photos they use are always great and for nature photographers getting published by Sierra Club is a huge thing.

I love this calendar. I've been using the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar on my little office desk for years, and I hope that they never stop making them. As in prior years, this calendar is spiral bound, so it will lay flat when it's open. There is a new page for each week, with a lovely photograph on the left page and the days listed vertically (Monday - Sunday) on the right. Each day has a few lines on which to write appointments and reminders. The pages are thick and sturdy. They have a shiny coating, so if you write on them with pencil, you won't be able to erase it effectively. I use sticky notes for things that are indefinite. There are pages with additional information in the back that I really only look at once a year when I first get the calendar. I always think it's cool at the time, but never use it later. All in all, I think it's a great calendar, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature photography and needs a smallish desk/engagement calendar.

I am very disappointed in the quality of the Sierra Club 2017 Engagement Calendar. In previous years the stunning photographs filled the pages with borderless, saturated, full-color striking images, while this year there is an awful lot of white space, making the photos much less appealing. That said, the photos themselves are not the same caliber as in previous years. Some of them are rather ho-hum, actually. I think the Sierra Club really "cheaped out" on the engagement calendar this year and I am thinking about returning it. (I had pre-ordered it.)**This year's calendar is also made from a less heavy, lower quality paper than in previous years.You should take a pass on this is my opinion.

This is the perfect book for keeping my diary...I have been using the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar for over twenty-seven years, and will continue to use this calendar long into the future. It gives just enough room for each day to record the important facts of that day, and then store at the end of the year for reference. The pictures for each week are beautiful, and I enjoy seeing the many different places/things that "arrive" with each new week. An excellent value for much used book.

The Sierra Club Engagement Calendar has never let me down. Besides showing stunning images to me weekly it is also the right size engagement calendar for me. There is plenty of room to write notes to myself for that day's events. I have been purchasing this calendar for many years - it just works for me.

I am disappointed by the quality of the paper in this year's calendar. It is no longer the glossy thick stock used in the past. The colors appear washed out and when I write down entries, the color from the photo on the back transfers on to the next page. I'll be buying the Audubon Engagement Calendar for 2018 and future years, until I hear that Sierra Club returns to using high quality paper and ink.

Sometimes I wonder what life is all about, and then I read a book like this which deals with tough topics like suicide, loss of a sister, and devastating lies. This might seem to be a fictional tale, but with billions living in this earth, it might have happened to someone.S. D. Robertson has taken this slice of life about a wickedness, a jealousy, and the need to feel better about oneself and written a story about two sisters Hannah and Diane. The story goes thus, Hannah and Mark lead a happy childless life when Hannah's sister Diane, out of the blue, leaves her daughter Mia with them apparently for a few days as she sorts out her life. Both the sisters have had a fallout years ago and no longer speak to each other till this day.A tragedy occurs and secrets are revealed, some innocent, some played. The whole story deals with the repercussions of it all. The book which has vibes of a thriller, is a family story and it just squeezes the heart at some points. The only niggle I had was some parts felt slow, but that may be because I am used to the thriller pace.S D Robertson's writing felt smooth for most parts, the last few pages made me cry... One can't hate the other who is dead, it's a waste of energy. Love surpasses all that.I went blind into the story, but I came out with a film of tears. Such is life, things happen, and one has to find the beauty in it. All my love for the book is for the dialogues written as messages of Diane to Hannah and Mia.. That touched my heart. I am writing this review with my heart still heavy.

Diane has been hiding many things, some of which could destroy everyone she ever cared about ...S.D. Robertson writes excellent books about messy lives and true emotions and MY SISTER'S LIES is no exception. The characters have all mucked up in some shape or form which is relatable and as they try to navigate the secrets and lies, as a reader I could really feel their pain and shock, their heartache and their need. Yet again, this talented author made me cry with his words and I defy any of you to turn the last page and not feel a lump in your throat.The drama, the untruths, the pace, everything is perfectly executed in MY SISTER'S LIES and I highly recommend it to all readers who enjoy reading family dramas and emotional novels. This will definitely be on my list for top books for this year.

But that all suddenly changes one day when Diana and Mia arrive on Hannah's doorstep, opening up a can of jealousy, lies, and deceit, that blows everything to smithereens.My Sister's Lies is truly a mind-blowing book! You honestly cannot believe that someone would be SO hateful to try to destroy everything someone else has! The treachery in this book is a living thing! That just consumes everything and nearly everyone! I cannot express just how much this book has gripped me!The author S.D. Robertson is a new to me author, but he is a brilliant author, his writing style is thrilling and his plotline was addictive! And I wanted to know more of the aftermath with Mia! If there is one book that should be made into a film (no matter how messed up the subject matter) My Sister's Lies should be it!

Book is great but I was looking for something different in the arrangements, it is definitely for advanced players.

Very nice piano arrangements. Very worthwhile to have as most of these pieces can be played all during the year. I recommend it.
