I have been in practice for 12 years and I am moving to CA so I have to re-take the boards. for a review the information in here is pretty good, the editing is another matter. It is simply lazy, the end of chapter review tests request information not covered in the chapter, there are multiple places where sentences end with incomplete information Example page 24 "vomiting and infantile....", in the tests the point location pictures are shoddy as the actual point is very hard to distinguish from the background or missing(editing and a simple color difference would have been an easy fix). While none of this should bar someone from using the book it would require extra work to check the mis-information. Author and publisher need to step it up

It is a very good tool for the Acuppoint Board. The tests will DEFINITELY get you to pass the board. They are long, difficult and cover really everything. I would recommend it to anyone who has trouble deciding on how to start and what to expect. I recognized quite a few questions from this book, on the board.

JUST CAME AFTER SO 4 WEEKSwORTH the wait

Books like this are so informational for children and hold such a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoy reading books, like this one and many others to my children, for if you start them young then they will grow to have a love for reading and adventure!

I tried this book with my 2 year old, he was able repeat after me when i showed him the book! Easy format for kids or anyone to follow along! The only thing i wish was differe t was instead of the same graphics i think it would have been better to have a picture of milk or oranges or apples that way kids could make a better connection.

This is a really cute book and so easy to use. I love that it’s geared to young kids and from what I have seen they enjoy learning from this book. A wonderful book and asset to any parent looking to help their child become bilingual.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a cute book and easy to use, but it would have been nice it included the pronunciations of the Spanish words.

Cute book and a fun way to learn another language. Graphics are nice also. I was given a free copy for an honest review.

I love the works by this author but this language series is by far my favorite. I have taken years of Spanish and I love the language and love to share it with the kids I work with. This is such a fun book and the words are so meaningful for kids to interact with the growing number of ELL/ESL students! Keep these books coming. They are so world-building!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It was initially intended to be Stu Ungar's autobiography, and "Stuey" is quoted throughout. No reader is excluded from the card-related parts of the story because there are easy-to-follow descriptions of how gin and other games are played. The details of the most famous legends, e.g. Bob Stupak's challenge, and the time Stuey called a massive all-in bet with ten-high and won --are here.Stu Ungar had *flaming* 24-karat ACA symptoms such as guessing what normal behavior is, addiction to risk, being impulsive, being unable to take care of himself, and unexpected strong emotional reactions (outbursts). Throughout his childhood, he spent his time in activities that were not typical for his age. I think he internalized the beatings by his father as negative self-feelings.Constant turmoil was normal to him. When everything was going OK and he had his own bed to sleep in, he seemed to find that more unsettling. As the authors put it, "He was desperate for approval." And to quote Don McNamee (p. 242), "His main problem was that he always needed instant gratification." And as Stu himself said, "See, I'm the most loyal person in the world." Those are all classic ACA symptoms.I was surprised at the extent and authenticity of his mafia connections; that was no b.s.He was an action-junkie who repeatedly lost what money he had by betting on sports, horse races, pit games, golf, you-name-it.It cannot be overemphasized how well written this book is, especially by today's crummy standards. There are very few typos. Use of the correct word is demonstrated as an art form. There's even an index. I was dumbfounded by a couple of these reader-reviews that criticized the writing.

There is nothing not to like because coming in you are not expecting something huge like William Manchester's Biography of Churchill. The book very much keeps your interest, assuming the subject interests you.Stuey Ungar was a genius in the sense that he was practically born playing cards like Picasso was born drawing pictures or Mozart was born playing the piano. He ran afoul of drugs and was not good at managing money but these kinds of issues were the flip side of his strength, he was like a guy who always drove with his high beams on and his foot to the floor and pretty single minded, he liked to gamble. One nice line, Page 76, "Stuey wasn't a con man or a hustler; he was an assassin". Meaning that he would not throw a game and so lost out on some good money, if he paced himself more gamblers would have taken him on and he would have made more money but he couldn't pace himself. I recommend this book.

This book held my attention. Fascinating tale of a good guy caught up in the gambling world of Las Vegas. Sad to witness his downward spiral and great losses due to gambling. What a sad ending for one who seemed to be a smart and caring guy struck down by his gambling addiction.

This book about Stuey "The Kid" Ungar is a fast-paced read about a poker prodigy. Before 'Hold 'em hit the scene, Stuey played Gin and became a young expert at card playing. It was said that his memory was photographic. This book shares the story of Stuey who lived life as a hard core gambler. All of life was a gamble to him and he took every opportunity in life to wager. His life experience was so far removed from the regular life that you and I might be living--paying bills and earning an honest wage.Stuey lived hard in all aspects: gambling, sex and drugs. He rubbed shoulders and was mentored by the mob and some of Vegas' biggest names like Doyle Brunson and a the Binions. Reading this book will allow you to see the life "The Kid" lived in NYC and Las Vegas. If you love books about Las Vegas and the game of Hold 'em as well as exciting stories about gambling--Stu Ungar's story will not disappoint.

Stu Unger was, by far, the greatest to ever play the game of poker. At the same time, like Fisher, he was consumed and obsessed by it with no room left in his life for anything else. This, perhaps, is the price someone pays for greatness. If you have ever been even semi serious about the game of poker, you will appreciate and understand the insights into the mind and character of this poker genius. (By the way, there's no comparison between this book and the movie that was made about Stu Unger's life. This book is 1,000 times better. The movie only gives a surface view of Stu Unger's life without any insight into what made him tick. In addition, it was inaccurate in some of what it presented.)

This is a well told rags to riches to rags story that is the biography of Stu Unger - Gin player and Poker player extraordinaire. This book is based upon interviews with Unger himself, as well as those that knew him best - family, friends, and those that sat across the green felt from this WSOP champ. It is an excellent book, but very depressing - not the fault of the writers, but because they do such an excellent job of making the reader see the turmoil that existed within this exceptional individual

Lizzie Borden 1 MURDER COMES TO FALL RIVER Ready for his day, Andrew J. Borden left his house around nine a.m. and headed to the business district of ?Fall River, Massachusetts, a city he had called home his entire life. He had taken this morning stroll for years. He had no idea that this would be the last time he’d do it. The Borden name was well known in this manufacturing city along the Quequechan River. Andrew’s ancestor Richard Borden had settled in Rhode Island during the 1630s, and other relatives then moved into nearby Fall River. Some of the Bordens became important business owners and leaders of the community. One distant relative of Andrew’s was president of the Fall River Railroad, while another ran the local ironworks. Those Bordens and their closest family members were some of the richest people in town. Andrew, though, came from a much simpler background. He had trained as a carpenter before going into the furniture business. Over the years, he became a successful businessman and investor. One local resident described him as “just and honest” but also “hard, stern, and puritanical.”?1 Despite making plenty of money from his business dealings, Borden didn’t like to spend it. It was said that Borden boasted he had never foolishly spent a single dollar. Even with his success, he chose to live with his family on Second Street rather than in the neighborhood known as the Hill, the most fashionable part of the city. Still, the Borden home was comfortable, and the family’s neighbors included doctors and other professionals. Borden saw no need to show off his wealth by moving to a larger, fancier home. Besides, living at 92 Second Street gave him an easy walk into town. When Borden set out on the morning of ?Thursday, August 4, 1892, he wasn’t feeling so well. Two days earlier he had come down with an upset stomach, most likely from a case of food poisoning. The family had eaten some leftovers that had gone bad in the summer humidity. This day was already starting out as another muggy one. As he ran his errands, Borden passed a building he owned that had his name prominently displayed on the front. He then stopped in briefly at the National Union Bank, where he was president. He continued on to the post office before heading to another bank; for that one, he served on the board of directors. Going to the banks to deposit a check or carry out some other business was almost a daily ritual for Borden. He also stopped to chat with people on the street. That day he talked with Jonathan Clegg, a store owner who rented space from him. Borden also went to one of his properties where workmen were making repairs. But at least one person Borden met that day noticed that the businessman was still under the weather. The lingering queasiness in his stomach may have led Borden to cut short his daily rounds and head back home. Andrew Borden lived with his wife, Abby, and his adult daughters, Emma and Lizzie, the children from his first marriage. The family had had a houseguest the night of August 3: John Morse, Mr. Borden’s brother-in-law from his first marriage. Morse and Borden often talked business. That morning the two men and Mrs. Borden had breakfast together; then Morse left the house shortly before Borden, though he expected to return for dinner. Emma was away visiting friends, so just Lizzie, Mrs. Borden, and the housekeeper, Bridget, were home when Mr. Borden returned. THE FIRST BLOODY BODY HE WENT FIRST to the side door and, finding it locked, went next to the front door. That door was locked too, and he fumbled a bit with his keys. Inside, Bridget heard him at the door and came over to let him in. She was surprised to find it locked and let out a little cry of frustration as she tried to open it. Lizzie was upstairs at the time, by the front stairs, and she laughed as she heard Bridget’s troubles with the door. Lizzie soon came down to greet her father. He sat in the dining room, reading, and she asked if he had any mail for her. He said no. Then Lizzie told her father that Mrs. Borden was not home after all. Someone had come to the door earlier in the morning with a note that asked Abby to go visit a sick friend. As she did her chores, Bridget saw Mr. Borden walking through the house before he finally settled down in the sitting room to read the newspaper. In the dining room, Lizzie had set up an ironing board to iron handkerchiefs—one household task she always did herself. Thanks to her father’s money, Lizzie didn’t have to work. She could sleep late, as she had that morning, and generally avoid doing much housework. Cleaning their own rooms was about all Lizzie and her sister regularly did. Taking a break from her ironing, Lizzie went into the kitchen and mentioned to Bridget that Mrs. Borden had gone out. Then the two young women discussed a sale at a local store. By now, Mr. Borden had stretched out his tall, thin body on the sofa in the sitting room. When Lizzie saw him, he had stopped reading and was simply resting. Lizzie then went outside for a few minutes. Meanwhile, Bridget went upstairs to take a break from her chores. She heard a bell ringing in the distance at city hall, signaling that it was eleven o’clock. A few minutes later Bridget heard Lizzie yelling her name from downstairs, saying, “Come down quick. Father’s dead. Somebody came in and killed him.”?2 Later, though, Lizzie said that in that moment, she wasn’t sure whether he was dead, but she was “so frightened and horrified” ?by what she saw.?3 Bridget rushed down the stairs and found Lizzie standing by the bloody body of Andrew Borden. But he was not merely bloody—his head and face had been hacked with an ax, leaving a hole in his skull and deep cuts that had splattered the walls with blood. One eyeball had been sliced in half. “Go for Dr. Bowen,” Lizzie ordered, and Bridget ran out to get the doctor, who lived across the street.?4 As Bridget dashed across the street to look for Dr. Bowen, Adelaide Churchill was returning from grocery shopping. She lived next to the Bordens. She saw Bridget leave the doctor’s house alone and head back home. The neighbor noticed the housekeeper’s frightened look. Churchill then went inside to put away her groceries. Looking through a window, she saw Lizzie outside by the side door. She, too, looked frightened or upset. Opening the window, Churchill asked Lizzie if something was wrong. Lizzie replied, “Oh, Mrs. Churchill, do come over; somebody has killed father.”?5 Churchill quickly ran over. Bridget was gone again, as Lizzie had sent her to get Alice Russell, one of her friends. Churchill arrived to see Lizzie sitting on a step of the house’s back stairs. She explained that she had been in the barn, heard a noise, and come into the house to find her father’s mutilated body. Churchill asked where Mrs. Borden was, and Lizzie said, “I don’t know where Mrs. Borden is. I think she is out, but I wish you would look.”?6 Lizzie explained again about the note Abby Borden had received that morning, and while she assumed her stepmother had gone out, she didn’t know for sure if she had returned. Lizzie said she might have heard her come in. If Abby had returned, she might have suffered the same bloody fate as Mr. Borden. ANOTHER GRUESOME DISCOVERY SINCE DR. BOWEN wasn’t home, Lizzie asked Churchill to go search for another doctor. The neighbor headed out, leaving Lizzie alone at the crime scene, but not for long. Dr. Bowen came home and his wife told him about trouble at the Borden residence. He went over and found Lizzie in the hall. By then, both Bridget and Churchill had returned. Lizzie explained that her father had been killed. Bowen asked if she had seen anyone, and Lizzie said no. After Bowen announced that Mr. Borden was indeed dead, Lizzie asked him to send a telegraph to her sister Emma to tell her what had happened. While the doctor was away, Lizzie once again said that Mrs. Borden could be in the house too. Bridget and Churchill went upstairs—Bridget refused to go alone—and the two made a gruesome discovery in the guest bedroom. Even before they reached the top of the stairs, they could see a body lying under the bed. Without looking any further, Churchill was sure it was the dead body of Abby Borden, and she hurried back down the stairs, filled with fear. As a local newspaper later reported the scene, Abby “had died evidently where she had been struck, for her life blood formed a ghastly clot on the carpet.”?7 Fall River police soon arrived at the home, and as the day went on, Lizzie answered a barrage of questions from the officers investigating the crime. Her friend Alice Russell was there for much of the time, and the two women presented very different images. Officer Philip Harrington wrote in his notes that Russell was “very pale, and much agitated, which she showed by short sharp breathing and wringing her hands.” Lizzie, on the other hand, “talked in the most calm and collected manner; her whole bearing was most remarkable under the circumstances.” At one point, Harrington offered to wait till the next day to question Lizzie further, when she might be less upset. Lizzie replied, “No, I can tell you all I know now just as well as any other time.” The exchange with Lizzie did not sit well with Harrington. As he wrote in his notes, “I don’t like that girl.”?8 By nightfall, Second Street was still crowded with local people seeking more information about the horrible crime. Newspapers in and around Fall River reported what little was known at the time, including rumors that a Portuguese man who worked on a farm Andrew Borden owned was a suspect. The Boston Advertiser played up the gory nature of the murders, reporting that the Bordens’ heads were “chopped to pieces by repeated and fiendish blows with an axe.” The paper wrote that some twelve hours after the bodies were first discovered, “the police and the people are in just as utter ignorance as they were when it was first noised abroad this noon.”?9 Within a few days, however, the police had a suspect in the grisly murders: Lizzie Borden. Her parents’ murders and then her trial captivated the country. Some people couldn’t imagine that a young woman from a wealthy and respectable family could commit such a crime. Others, though, saw Lizzie as cool and calculating—and able to kill in cold blood. Here is her story. THE FAMOUS RHYME More than 120 years after the murder of Andrew and Abby Borden, the most some people know about the case comes from a simple rhyme: Lizzie Borden took an axe And gave her mother forty whacks, When she saw what she had done, She gave her father forty-one. The little poem has been called a nursery rhyme and a jump-rope song, and it seems children began reciting it not long after the crime. The rhyme, though, is not historically accurate, as the killer used only twenty-nine blows of the murder weapon, not the eighty-one mentioned. The rhyme has had several variations, as explained by Olive Woolley Burt in her 1958 book, American Murder Ballads. In one version, after Lizzie delivered the first forty whacks, she “stood behind the door, and gave her father forty more.” Another version goes: Andrew Borden, he is dead; Lizzie hit him on the head. Lizzie killed her mother, too— What a horrid thing for Liz to do!??10

From the Back Cover

From legendary FBI profiler John Douglas and Mark Olshaker -- authors of the nonfiction international bestsellers Mindhunter, Journey into Darkness, and Obsession -- comes an unprecedented, insightful look at the root of all crime.Every crime is a mystery story with a motive at its heart. With the brilliant insight he brought to his renowned work inside the FBI's elite serial-crime unit, John Douglas pieces together motives behind violent sociopathic behavior. He not only takes us into the darkest recesses of the minds of arsonists, hijackers, bombers, poisoners, assassins, serial killers, and mass murderers, but also the seemingly ordinary people who suddenly kill their families or go on a rampage in the workplace.Douglas identifies the antisocial personality, showing surprising similarities and differences among various types of deadly offenders. He also tracks the progressive escalation of those criminals' sociopathic behavior. His analysis of such diverse killers as Lee Harvey Oswald, Theodore Kaczynski, and Timothy McVeigh is gripping, but more importantly, helps us learn how to anticipate potential violent behavior before it's too late.

Unfortunately it has been several months since reading this, but my general impression was that it was informative. Its strength is the explanation of how psychological motive underlies, and differentiates, types of violent crimes. As any fan of Mr. Douglas expects, numerous fascinating case examples culled from his career solving violent crime illustrate the narrative. Recommended for students of human nature, psychology students or dilettantes, or any reader whose life philosophy is forewarned is forearmed.

Could be used as a textbook. The book is a fascinating read. I chose the book to enhance a book I am writing. However, I would have read this book anyway. It is good.

The book gets a bit formulaic. Give the details of the crime, give the profile they came up with, then tell about the person arrested, stressing similarities to the profile. Nonetheless, it is very interesting and a fast read.

"The Anatomy of Motive..." by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, ISBN 0-671-02393-4 (PB), Pocket Books 1999 - is a 393 page exposition by a seasoned writer (11 publications) and FBI's legendary profiler. It is a well-written and indexed (19 pp) mind-probing study of violent evildoers which seeks to observe why misdeeds are committed in especial ways and how that may indicate who (UNSUB) did the particular crime. Douglas had two decades with the FBI (with teaching and investigative assignments) Behavorial Science Unit (BSU) at Quantico and he discloses the field practice of applied criminal psychology to the crime scenes, forensic evidences and interrogation techniques. An extensive listing and/or recital of many high profile cases is looked to - including Manson, Berkowitz, Speck, Gacy, Zamora, Pierre & Andrew, Ross, Nickell, List, Coleman & Brown, Cunanan, and Kaczynski is but to highlight a few. I found his judgmental commentaries on these killer criminals were useful, and based on his personal thorough experiences. The final chapter includes 4 brief case studies where the reader is to provide the 'who' (suspect) utilizing the basics of 'why' and 'what' had occurred. This book is entracing and based entirely on true facts, raising the question of why one would want to read crime fiction in place of real people in real places.

Dark death in the mind of killers and what really makes them tick. There are eight stories from the legendary FBI Prolier John Douglas and Mark Olshaker.Douglas identifies the anti-social personality, showing surprising similarities and differences among various types of deadly offenders. He also tracks the progressive escalation of those criminals' sociopathic behavior. His analysis of such diverse killers as Lee Harvey Oswald. Theodore Kaczynski, and Timothty McVeigh is gripping, but more importantly he helps us learn how to anticipate potential violent behavior before it's too late.

I took a course in college called British Mystery Novels and I wish our professor had us read this book before we read the novels. However, the information helps me understand some of the people that I have had to deal with over the last fifteen years. In fact, Douglas opened my eyes to the reason why my father beat me; he was a sadist. He actually enjoyed torturing me. There was no other reason he beat me with a bat at age sixteen; I was only twenty-minutes late. He was one sick hombre.

I've read many of John Douglas' books, many that I've liked. "Mind Hunter" and "Inside the Mind of BTK" -- both really strong efforts -- "Law and Disorder" and "The Cases that Haunt Us" -- not bad but not great. And while I am surely a fan of his work, there's always been something about his books that I didn't like, and I just couldn't quite put my finger on it. Until reading "The Anatomy of Motive," that is:Pointless ad hominems. (Are there any other kind?)An "ad hominem" is basically "name calling," if you haven't heard the Latin phrase before. It is a form of a red herring, I believe, because it tries to take the focus of attention away from the original argument. As examples, say in a presidential election, one candidate accuses the other of "not being qualified for the job." This would not be necessarily an ad hominem, but rather could be opinion -- and correct -- since it is not a personal shot on the opponent but rather a potential valid criticism. But let's say that another candidate calls the other "stupid, because he's just a tax-and-spend Liberal." Well, while I might somewhat agree in principal, this would be an ad hominem. The word "stupid" should be the clue. And "Liberal" might be an ad hominem in this context as well. And here, Mr. Douglas calls many of the criminals that he's dealt with as "stupid," "losers," etc. Sure, you can easily argue that all of these names are true, but that's not the point. The point is, it is already implied that these guys are all of these things and even more, without having to sling mud. And when you use an ad hominem, it unfortunately only weakens your argument. Hey, for you naysayers, I don't make the rules, I only try to follow them.Another issue that I had with this book: Mr. Douglas's position on gun ownership. A few years ago, I moved into one of the worst cities in all of California for violence -- believe me, that's saying something -- and for the first time ever, I purchased a hand gun. I had no choice. I had to call 911 many times, as there was constant gunfire outside of my house, let alone break-ins. I always worried about taking a stray bullet, or more importantly, a home invasion. I will tell you this: if you have a home invasion, you may not have time to even grab your weapon. But I surely would rather have a gun than not in that scenario. Why? At least I'd have a chance. And in this book, Mr. Douglas writes that he believes that, before someone purchases a gun, the police should talk to his NEIGHBORS to see if he's fit to own a gun! Are you kidding? In that old neighborhood, I lived next to two school teachers and a gal that worked at a hospital, all Democrats. How do I know? They told me as much. They were all anti-gun, so there's no way they would have said that I should have been able to buy a gun. Why? Because they would have said "NO ONE is fit to buy a gun." How do I know? They actually told me so. It is surprising to me that, since Mr. Douglas was in law enforcement for so long, that he wouldn't understand this obvious unintended consequence of his stance. This all being said, I still really liked his book, as usual. I usually "enjoy" reading about serial killers -- if "enjoy" is the correct word -- but here, he mostly discusses bombers (which can be serial killers), spree killers, and mass murderers, which was a nice change of pace, at least for me. If you accept my minor recommendation to buy this book, you will get to read about many of these types that have committed various atrocities over the past 30 or 40 years, and why they started killing. It is very interesting.Well, I could call Mr. Douglas "stupid" because of his position on gun ownership in America. But that would be an ad hominem, and that would only weaken my review. Instead, I'll simply say that he hasn't correctly thought through the unintended consequences of his theory.

this is one of the most fascinating books that will be for generations. if you're interested in criminal psychology and true crime, this book is very worth your time!

I’m glad I came across this book, not only because it is so informative, but it is a very well written ebook that I came across in a very long time.Coming to the content, the author has taken great pains to really understand the whole process of how Amazon Prime works. For a complete novice like me the book was a great eye opener, I now know about Amazon Prime and I know its precise advantages like free streaming of movies/tv series and reading books from the Kindle Lending Library and its disadvantages like the high membership fees and how most utilities are underused. The best part, while reading this book the pervading feeling I got throughout was that the author was on my side – i.e. the reader’s. How often can you say that about an ebook? As an added bonus the book also gives information about Amazon Mom and Amazon Student and how the members of these 2 sites could benefit from a Prime membership. If you did not know already but the book also informs readers about the 30 day free trial that Prime offers before taking the plunge. The only thing that I felt was a repetition in the book was the information about the disadvantage of lugging children to stores for doing shopping. Apart from that it is certainly worth your precious time.

The author James has certainly done his research on Amazon Prime, as can be told from the reading of this book. As an Amazon Prime user, I like most others tend to use it without really giving too much consideration as to whether it is right for me or not. Yet in Unlock the Power of Amazon Prime Membership, James dedicates one whole chapter on the cons of Amazon Prime whilst he dedicates another chapter to the benefits of Amazon Prime.I would strongly recommend one reads this book before taking out an Amazon Prime membership, or whether they are looking at renewing their membership.

For some time I have seen Amazon Prime Membership but never fully understood the total package. What is really good about this book is that James has obviously done a lot of research to provide a comprehensive guide to the service. He has not only covered the benefits but also the disadvantages. This book should provide you with enough information to make a rational decision on the service.

Only problem is you didn't mention one significant drawback. If you check the price on Amazon Prime eligible items against what you can get it for elsewhere, you'll find the price on some items is goosed up enough to cover some or all of the cost of shipping. I agree that sometimes I don't care because it's worth it not to have to drive around trying to buy the thing. I also do all my Christmas shopping through Amazon. My family puts everything up on their wishlist a month before. I sit down one morning and in an hour I'm done with my Christmas shopping.

It's very nice to be able to order an inexpensive item and not have to pay for shipping. Before prime I had to wait until I had an order of $35. Then sometimes I would forget what I wanted if I hadn't put it in the cart. I have also watched some of the Prime movies that are available. I am looking forward to using the new Prime Music.

I have been pondering Prime purchase for some time. This inexpensive few pages gave me all the info I reasonably will need. After similarly pondering on a tablet and finally settling on kindle fire hdx 8.9 (good choice although took me a while to understand some things; Mayday is a great help!) seems I may now be ready for movies on my tablet not to mention free shipping and a book per month. The latter is too few though.

Membership benefits are pretty straightforward, but it's nice to have them summed up. Call me paranoid, but I don't want to miss out on any potential benefits, (even though after trying the streaming video... I'll stick with Netflix for now, thank you very much). The best New thing I learned was the credit I can get toward my next year's membership by opting for the "No-Rush" shipping. Makes the whole deal even sweeter!

The e-book “Unlock the Power and Potential of Your Amazon Prime Account” was a great read. In much less than the time it would’ve taken me to create an account and figure out if it was worth it, I was able to learn the ins and outs of the program. Prime has really changed a lot in the past nine years. As a previous subscriber to the service about five years ago (when it was much more limited), I was a bit dubious about its offerings; however, now I see everything how far it has come. The book was also good because it addressed some of the criticisms of Amazon Prime, such as the membership fee raise and the limited availability of books through the Kind Book Borrow feature. Christiansen gave readers the facts and the opportunity to make up their own minds.I really enjoyed learning about all the new features that Amazon Prime has to offer its users. What’s especially great about the book is how it goes into detail about Amazon Mom and Amazon Student. The first of which I’d never even heard of before. Finally, if readers aren’t convinced of Amazon Prime’s utility the author includes a 30-day Free Subscription to Prime itself. I recommend this book for anyone who’s even remotely curious about the service; the worst thing that can happen is that you get access to free shipping for a month!

The content of this book is good, though, a little shallow. It scratches the surface of the issue of materialism and provides some decent insight and advice. I would have likely rated this 3.5-4 stars based purely on content. The MAJOR negative aspect of this book was the ridiculous number of spelling and grammatical errors in this book. This is something that I am very particular about - if the author doesn't care enough about her work to proofread it a few times (especially a book this short), why should I view it as a valuable source of information?I'd say this is a pretty good book for people who are interested in breaking their materialistic habits and who are not as particular about spelling and grammar as I am.

I can't tell you what wonders this book did for me. I always considered myself not very materialistic. Though, after reading this book I realize now just how mistaken I was. Grace covers everything that I needed to see just how materialistic I have become. It was through following her simple steps that I am finally free of the materialism. It really isn't that hard. You think that stopping it will drain the meaning from your life. What I hadn't expected was that the opposite would happen! She reveals the freedom of owning things and not being owned by your things!

I purchase this book thinking it was going to be a lot more information in it then it was. the book was sold for $16 but it was not worth it only has 19 pages if you don't want to be a materialistic person don't buy this book that's a start

I honestly couldn't be more of an advocate for what this book is preaching. I wholeheartedly disagree with this consumer driven materialistic world and truly believe you will be a much happier person if you rid yourself of all your 'stuff'. This is a fantastic book that delves a bit further into this topic and explores the various ways you can live a more minimal and simplistic life.

I saw this title and immediately wanted to read it. Because it is December - retail highlight of the year - these topics have been on my mind. We are in a materialistic world and the author has done a great job in listing many of the negative effects of such. I agree with the author on so many aspects of this book and it is what society needs to know. Not only does the author list the problems, the remedies are also outlined. I recommend reading this book and focusing on those remedies for a more realistic and healthy lifestyle.

The content given offers plenty of reasons and insight as to why materialism is unhealthy and why there is more to life than just material things. In this modern day and age it is very common to associate material wealth with success in life. This book helps us find other joys and accomplishments in life other than material goods. A good read for young people out there

It's too easy to fall into the trap of materialism in today's world. This book puts it into perspective, makes you think about the impacts of materialism and question your personal priorities.I highly recommend this book to anyone at any stage of their life as a lesson learned!

Excellent approach to the understanding of how things intervene in our daily life. I think it changed my point of view in a wide range after reading this book, I am into a lot of research about how to live a better life, how to reach peace, and I think before anyone gets into a discipline it is important to be aware of which things stuck our feet into this materialistic world. This book is amazing, beautiful tool for people who want to change to better and have a high quality of living, not just for them but also for people around us. I must congratulate and thanks the Author for sharing this life changing book with us.
