El clásico poema épico de Dante Alighieri en la versión traducida por Luis Martínez de Merlo. Una versión en español que pretende una traducción literal, pero que pierde la rima. Una versión comprensible.Creo que si buscas una traducción más literal, esta es tu versión; pero, si pretendes leer la traducción en verso, busca la destacada versión de Ángel Crespo.

Es una de las obras fundamentales de la transición del pensamiento medieval (teocentrista) al renacentista (antropocentrista). Es considerada la obra maestra de la literatura italiana y una de las cumbres de la literatura universal.Dante Alighieri llamó sencillamente Commedia a su libro, pues, de acuerdo con el esquema clásico, no podía ser una tragedia, ya que su final es feliz. Cada una de sus partes, o cánticas (Infierno, Purgatorio y Paraíso), está dividida en cantos, cada parte consta de treinta y tres cantos, más el canto introductorio suman 100 cantos en total. Cada canto fue compuesto por estrofas de tres versos endecasílabos o terza rima, que se dice él mismo inventó (tercetos).El poema se ordena en función del simbolismo del número tres, que evoca la Trinidad Sagrada, el Padre, el Hijo y Espíritu Santo, el equilibrio y la estabilidad, y el triángulo, las tres proposiciones que componen el silogismo, se sumaba al cuatro, que representaba los cuatro elementos: Tierra, aire, fuego y agua, dando como resultado el número siete, como siete son los pecados capitales.Finalmente, el Infierno está dividido en nueve círculos, el Purgatorio en siete y el Paraíso queda formado por nueve esferas que giran como los planetas en torno al sol. Toda la obra está llena de símbolos que remiten al conocimiento y al pensamiento medievales; religión, astronomía, filosofía, matemáticas, óptica, etc; encarnan en personajes, lugares y acciones.

Esta traduccion, fuera de los meritos del texto en si, una de las obras maestras de la literatura medieval/occidental/universal, agrada por la conservacion del estilo estructural rimado del autor. El Conde de Cheste, fuera quien fuese, hizo un trabajo digno del mas elevado elogio. Da gusto tener un texto asi, en castellano, si no equivalente al original, bien similar. Y algo mas, se comenta, antes de pasar a los primeros versos, algo util para tener en cuenta, es saber, que la obra tambien se puede ver como compendio de la cultura medieval, lo cual al lector le servira para estudiar una fase historica demasiado mitificada y mal comprendida.

Bastante complicado de leer para lo que estamos acostumbrados actualmente, sumamente densa y con referencias bastante complejas. Un clásico difícil de leer.

Una de las grandes obras de la literatura universal, así como en España Cervantes es el más grande de todos sus escritores, y en Inglaterra es Shakespeare, en Italia es Dante.La Divina Comedia, se entiende que encierra secretos que para un ser humano común y corriente es muy difícil de desvelar
